Job summary

LPL Financial seeks a VP of Container Engineering to lead the Cloud Center of Excellence's container platform (EKS) across a multi-account landscape. You will drive strategy, architecture, and operations, partnering with FinOps to optimize costs and delivering a self-service experience for application teams.

You will own people management, hands-on Terraform/Helm work, and incident response while guiding the organization through architectural decisions and platform improvements in a regulated

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive technical experience including 5+ years in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering leadership.
• 5+ years of hands-on AWS at scale in multi-account environments and 4+ years of Terraform in private module ecosystems.
• 1+ year experience as a people manager or technical lead of 5+ engineers.
• 5+ years of 24x7 production on-call rotations in regulated environments (financial services preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead the Containers team in CCOE: strategy, architecture, implementation, and operations of the container platform (EKS) across the landing zone.
• Set multi-year container strategy: topology, upgrades, addons, ingress, service mesh, GitOps, and CI/CD integration.
• Drive cost efficiency with FinOps for container workloads and promote self-service experiences.
• Ensure platform reliability with SRE practices: SLOs, error budgets, capacity planning, upgrades, blast-radius reduction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional pods for secure, scalable, and compliant container workloads.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain a globally distributed team across US and India GCC.
