Job description

Chubb is seeking a VP, Commercial Insurance Portfolio Manager to work within the Middle Market Commercial Insurance Division. The role focuses on a Managing General Agent (MGA) Partnership targeting the Specialty Trade and Building Contractor Segment. Responsibilities include managing Workers Compensation and other Casualty lines through Independent Agents specializing in construction.

The VP, Portfolio Manager will report to an EVP, Product Line Leader.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the Middle Market Product Line Teams and the Construction Industry Practice to implement underwriting strategies for Product Line and Corporate Construction within the Managing General Underwriter (MGU).
2. Develop and implement standards for the MGU to submit account-level referrals for risks exceeding delegated authority.
3. Track and analyze claim trends and provide actionable recommendations to Product Line Managers.
4. Work with actuarial resources for quarterly data analyses and propose actions for Product Line Leaders.
5. Partner with the reinsurance team to evaluate reinsurance purchases for optimal net results.
6. Ensure actual pricing aligns with Product Line standards for adequacy and compliance.
7. Conduct portfolio reviews with Actuary and Product Line leaders to reflect current trends in pricing models.
8. Oversee portfolio KPIs and recommend adjustments to ensure performance aligns with goals.
9. Use data analysis to select accounts for annual underwriting audits, coordinating with relevant leaders.
10. Collaborate with the Claim Business Consultant to ensure TPA usage is cost-effective and meets expense targets.
