Job summary

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a senior leader to drive Breakthrough Partnerships and Foundations, building a pipeline of transformative gifts and overseeing the Foundations & Trusts team. You will develop donor strategies, coordinate with program leadership, and shepherd high-value philanthropy across a multi-year horizon.

Based primarily on the West Coast with remote options, the role requires executive collaboration with IRC’s CEO, COO, and philanthropy leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in major gift fundraising, strategic relationship development, investment, or a closely adjacent field.
• Demonstrated track record of closing private transformational gifts or partnerships at the $50M+ level.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage Breakthrough Partnerships pipeline with $100M+ prospects.
• Design tailored, compelling asks using programmatic depth and evidence.
• Foster internal capability and credible donor narratives across the organization.
• Contribute to Campaign 2033 strategy and shape external relations leadership.
• Lead and grow the Foundations & Trusts team with cross-functional coordination.
