Job summary

Ladders is seeking a VP, Associate General Counsel to lead complex commercial legal matters in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This remote role partners with sales, management and internal stakeholders to support contract strategy, compliance, and business growth while shaping templates and training teams.

Based on a highly regulated environment, you will review and draft multi-million dollar contracts, negotiate BAAs, and advise on legal implications of new offerings.

Qualifications

• J.D. from a top law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Active NJ State Bar membership or willingness to obtain a limited license.
• 4–7 years of legal experience, ideally with 3 years at a reputable law firm.
• Strong background in healthcare law, including knowledge of Anti-Kickback Statute and HIPAA.
• Proficient in contract drafting and negotiation, particularly in the pharma sector.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate multi-million dollar client contracts across various business lines.
• Negotiate distribution channel contracts and BAAs with EMR and pharmacy companies.
• Develop a library of form contracts for new products and services.
• Advise sales and management on contract interpretation and compliance with legal standards.
• Support management on legal aspects of new business lines and product offerings.
• Train new Legal Department employees and provide contract training to other departments.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

For our client, we are seeking a VP, Associate General Counsel to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space.

This attorney will help guide complex commercial legal matters across a growing portfolio of products and services in a highly regulated environment. The role will partner closely with sales, management, and other internal stakeholders to support contract strategy, legal compliance, and business growth. It also offers the opportunity to shape templates, train internal teams, and advise on the legal implications of new offerings.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $215,400 – $289,400 annually

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate multi-million dollar client contracts across various business lines
• Negotiate distribution channel contracts and business associate agreements with electronic medical records and pharmacy companies
• Develop a library of form contracts for new products and services, updating as needed
• Advise sales and management on contract interpretation and compliance with legal standards
• Support management on legal aspects of new business lines and product offerings
• Train new Legal Department employees and provide contract training to other departments
• Perform additional duties as assigned
