Job summary

Counsel Recruit is seeking a mid-level to senior regulatory associate for its New Jersey office, with remote candidates strongly considered and a flexible hybrid schedule. The role involves researching complex Healthcare and Life Sciences matters, analyzing regulatory issues, and drafting memoranda.

A NJ license is required, with NY or other states' licensure a plus, and at least 4 years of experience in healthcare law.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in NJ.
• Licensed in NY or other states is a plus (CA admission a particular plus).
• 4+ years of experience practicing law.
• Experience with healthcare laws and regulations including: anti-kickback laws, self-referral prohibitions, HIPAA and patient privacy provisions, False Claims Act, Healthcare Fraud Statute.
• Superior research and writing skills; strong verbal and written communication; GPA 3.0+ preferred.

• Evaluating regulatory compliance for existing or proposed business practices and recommending risk mitigation.
• Drafting and negotiating transactional documents including service, purchase, management, lease, licensing, employment, operating, and shareholder agreements.
• Preparing change of ownership filings and other agency notifications related to Healthcare and Life Sciences licensees.
• Communicating effectively with clients.

A nationally recognized life sciences and healthcare boutique law firm is seeking a mid-level or senior regulatory associate to join its NJ office. The firm has offices in NJ and NYC and offers a flexible hybrid work model. Remote candidates are also strongly considered. The firm represents several pharmacies, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology companies.

Responsibilities:

• Researching, analyzing, and drafting memoranda related to complex Healthcare and Life Sciences arrangements
• Evaluating existing and/or proposed business practices to identify regulatory compliance issues and recommending risk mitigation options
• Drafting and negotiating transactional documents including service, purchase, management, lease, licensing, employment, operating, and shareholder agreements
• Preparing change of ownership filings and other agency notifications related to Healthcare and Life Sciences licensees

Requirements:

• Licensed to Practice in NJ

The base salary range for this position is estimated at $200,000 - $250,000. Compensation can be higher to align with the right candidate. The firm competes with BigLaw firms relevant to clients and legal matters.

The posted salary is a good faith estimate. Actual salary will depend on years of experience and other factors.
