Qualifications

• Licensed to practice in any state (CA license a plus).
• 7+ years of experience practicing law.
• Healthcare, life sciences or pharmaceutical law background is a must.
• Experience with healthcare laws and regulations including anti-kickback laws, self-referral prohibitions, privacy provisions, False Claims Act, and healthcare fraud statutes.

Job description

A nationally recognized life sciences and healthcare boutique law firm is seeking a partner-level attorney to join the firm's life sciences team. The firm draws on its experience representing stakeholders across the entire healthcare spectrum. In the Life Sciences, the firm has represented pharmacies of all kinds and assisted with regulatory, transactional, and litigation matters. On the Healthcare side, the Firm's clients have included large physician group practices, hospitals, hospital medical staff, ambulatory surgery centers, laboratory companies, as well as the complete panoply of ancillary service providers. The firm has attorneys licensed in numerous states. The firm has offices in New Jersey and New York City.

The Regulatory Partner will be responsible for, and should be highly experienced with:

• Researching, analyzing, and drafting memoranda related to complex Healthcare and Life Sciences arrangements
• Expertise with Stark Law, AKS, and related federal laws and regulations
• Expertise with federal and state drug supply chain laws and regulations is a plus
• Evaluating existing and/or proposed business practices to identify regulatory compliance issues and recommending risk mitigation options
• Preparing change of ownership filings and other agency notifications related to Healthcare and Life Sciences licensees
• Communicating effectively with clients
• Ability to mentor/lead a team
• Work from the NJ or NYC offices, or open to flexible/hybrid/remote
• Will consider bringing on associates/staff if business circumstances allowed

Requirements:

• Licensed to Practice in any state (CA license a plus)
• 7+ years' experience practicing law
• $200K in portable business required
• Healthcare, life sciences or pharmaceutical law background a must
• Experience with healthcare laws and regulations, including:
  • Federal and state anti-kickback laws
  • Federal and state self-referral prohibitions
  • HPAA and patient privacy provisions
  • False Claims Act
  • Healthcare Fraud Statute
  • Experience with state telehealth requirements and professional practice regulations a plus
  • Corporate practice of medicine prohibitions
  • Superior research and writing skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Excellent law school performance/credentials

The base salary range for this partner-level role is estimated between $400,000 - $550,000.
