Job summary

JCW Group is seeking an Associate Director of Legal for its North America operations. Based in New Jersey, this high-visibility role reports to the General Counsel and supports US and Canada across BD, Commercial, Operations and HR.

You will lead drafting and negotiating complex agreements, advise on regulatory and compliance matters, and coordinate with outside counsel on litigation. JD required, NJ bar preferred, 6–8+ years of experience in pharma/legal.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school.
• Licensed in at least one state; NJ bar preferred.
• 6–8+ years experience in large law firm or in-house.
• Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate BD, licensing, and acquisition agreements.
• Draft and negotiate commercial, vendor, and confidentiality agreements.
• Advise HR, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Finance, and Compliance on legal matters.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation matters, including antitrust and product liability.

Associate Director, Legal | Pharmaceutical | New Jersey

I'm partnering with a global pharmaceutical company, known for high quality generics and a growing specialty pipeline, to find an Associate Director of Legal for their North America business. This is a high visibility role reporting directly to the General Counsel, supporting the US and Canadian markets across BD, Commercial, Operations, and HR.

What you'll do:

• Draft and negotiate business development agreements, including term sheets, in-licensing, out-licensing, and acquisition deals
• Draft and negotiate commercial, vendor, and confidentiality agreements, and help resolve partner and customer disputes
• Advise HR, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Finance, and Compliance on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters
• Partner with outside counsel on litigation, including antitrust and product liability

What you'll bring:

• JD from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school, licensed in at least one state (New Jersey bar or eligibility for NJ in-house counsel preferred)
• 6 to 8+ years of experience at a large U.S. law firm and/or in-house
• Strong track record drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts
• Pharmaceutical industry experience strongly preferred

Compensation:

$175,000 to $195,000 base, plus bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package.
