Job summary

The Center for Internet Security, Inc. seeks a visionary leader to serve as Vice President of Software Engineering.

You will guide software engineering teams building CIS products and internal infrastructure, mentoring staff, shaping architecture, and applying AI-enabled practices to deliver secure, reliable solutions. You will lead modernization, DevOps, and cloud-native development while aligning technology with business goals, budgets, and stakeholder needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is required.
• 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
• 7+ years of leadership experience managing agile software teams with AI tooling.
• Experience defining software architecture and design standards.
• Proven track record in AI-enabled software development and modernization.
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate objectives into engineering outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership in architecture, best practices, and AI-enabled development.
• Lead end-to-end agile software development lifecycle with AI-driven tools.
• Drive modern engineering practices, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Mentor engineers through architecture/code reviews and standards adherence.
• Govern AI technologies and ensure secure, responsible use.
• Foster a culture of excellence, learning, and data-driven decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable solutions.
• Establish and measure engineering performance with meaningful metrics.
