Job summary

Topgolf seeks a strategic Vice President of Engineering to define the execution strategy, engineering practices, and architectural principles across our application landscape. You will lead, mentor, and scale multi-pod teams to deliver secure, scalable software solutions.

You will partner with Product, Security, and Infrastructure leaders to align velocity with business goals, manage tech debt, and drive AI-enabled initiatives across the SDLC with guardrails for safe velocity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, MIS, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
• 2+ years experience building and scaling AI-enabled engineering tools and developer platforms.
• 10+ years deep understanding of modern languages (Java, Python, Go, C#) and cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• 10+ years advanced proficiency in Agile, DevOps, SRE, and GitOps.
• 5+ years experience building secure, enterprise-grade systems with data protection and compliance.
• 5+ years ability to communicate complex technical concepts to executives.
• 15% travel to venues and events.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term roadmap for AI-enabled software engineering initiatives, shared services, and modern deployment.
• Oversee engineering execution across multiple development cycles, ensuring on-time delivery and secure practices.
• Oversee architectural design of high-throughput distributed environments with data integrity and privacy.
• Mentor directors, managers, and principal engineers to foster a high-performance culture.
• Manage software vendor relationships, licensing, and contract negotiations to control spend.
• Be responsible for the engineering budget and Cloud FinOps to optimize costs.
