Job summary

Hoppe Development is seeking a Vice President of Affordable Housing Development to guide projects from concept through stabilization, leading a high-performing team and expanding the firm's footprint across the Midwest.

The role focuses on LIHTC structuring, public financing tools, stakeholder negotiation, and execution across multiple concurrent projects in Lincoln or Omaha. Strong financial modeling and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

7+ years of affordable or mixed-income housing development with LIHTC responsibility.
Deep LIHTC underwriting, acquisition/rehab structuring, tax-exempt bonds, and multi-fund financing.
Proven ability to lead complex projects from concept through stabilization.
Strong financial modeling skills (Excel/Sheets, pro forma, basis/credit).
Experience interfacing with HFAs (NIFA/IFA) and municipal entitlement processes.

Responsibilities

Lead development team to secure 2–4 deals per year in select markets.
Oversee feasibility, site acquisition, entitlement, design, and financing.
Coordinate LIHTC equity, bonds, HOME, CDBG, AHP, HTF, and public/private funds.
Manage entitlement, permitting, and construction oversight with design teams and GC.
Ensure smooth lease-up and operations transition with supportive services integration.
Mentor development managers and analysts; standardize financial modeling and due diligence.
