Job summary

Belmont College is seeking a Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs to serve as the chief academic and student services officer. You will oversee academic programs, student services, accreditation, and reporting while coordinating with the President’s Staff.

The role requires doctoral level education, extensive administrative experience, and a proven ability to lead teams and drive enrollment strategies within a higher education setting.

Qualifications

  • Full-time teaching experience with preference for technical/community college level.

Position Summary:


This position is the chief academic and student affairs officer of the College. The incumbent has primary responsibility and oversight of areas which may include, but not be limited to academic affairs, student services, reporting, regional and national accreditation. This executive level position is a member of the President’s Staff and reports directly to the Executive Vice President.


Specific Responsibilities



  • 1.) Academic Leadership

  • a. Responsible for the development and implementation of quality academic programs.

  • b. Provide leadership for academic assessment, effectiveness, curriculum, course, and program development.

  • c. Provide leadership for the curriculum including but not limited to the development of new academic programming, general education courses, technical courses, and transfer articulation agreeements.

  • d. Responsible for meeting and maintaining accreditation standards and reporting for academic programming.

  • e. Create, assess, implement, and evaluate various models such as the Faculty Model, Learning and Student Success models.

  • f. Responsible for approving faculty qualifications and confirming that the teaching standards are met for all new hires.

  • a. Establish team-oriented philosophies, policies, and procedures.

  • b. Act as an advisor and confidant to the President and the Board of Trustees as required.

  • c. Create effective working teams (i.e. departments, support staff, and Deans/Directors).

  • d. Provide leadership for enrollment management along with other stakeholder and lead personnel.

  • e. Coordinate working needs and initiatives with all other members of the President’s Staff.

  • f. Provide leadership to all student services and maintain oversight to confirm all are complying.

  • a. Work with the EVP to maintain all college policies pertaining to academic and student affairs.

  • b. Serve as the College representative with the OACC and CAO meetings.

  • c. Attend monthly Board of Trustees meetings.

  • 4.) Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:



  • 1.) A Doctoral Degree in Higher Education or a comparable terminal degree.

  • 2.) Full-time teaching experience with a preference at the technical and/or community college level.

  • 3.) Minimum of 5 years administrative experience as a Dean of Academic Affairs.

  • 4.) Familiarity with the MS Office Suite, Apple Products, and other realms of technology.
