Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking substitute teachers who demonstrate Biblical knowledge, effective teaching, and compassionate communication to work with students using LifeWise curriculum.

Ideal candidates are active church participants, committed to the LifeWise statement of faith, and ready to implement lesson plans, maintain a safe classroom, and partner with teachers and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Active church involvement and commitment to LifeWise faith alignment.

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training.
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis.
• Implement the lesson plans using the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher.
• Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom environment following LifeWise policies and procedures.
• Follow the program's student discipline policy.
• Maintain Records: Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to the teacher.
• Maintain Classroom: Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom; know procedures for emergency situations.
• Communicate: Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community; communicate lesson plans with volunteers before class and with the teacher.

Qualifications and Experience

• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the "What We Believe" section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the "What We Believe" section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
