Job SummaryThe Volunteer Services Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, onboarding,training, retention, supervision, and utilization of hospice volunteers to support themission and regulatory requirements of Hospice Savannah. This position coordinatesvolunteer services across the organization, ensuring adequate volunteer coverage forpatients, families, caregivers, and organizational needs. The Coordinator collaborateswith the interdisciplinary team to assess patient needs, develop volunteer care plans,enter volunteer-related orders and documentation in the electronic medical record,monitor volunteer assignments, maintain regulatory compliance, and promote volunteerengagement through education, recognition, and retention initiatives.Minimum QualificationsAssociate degree required; bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, social work, human services, education, nonprofit management, or related field preferred.Minimum two years of experience in volunteer management, healthcare, hospice, nonprofit administration, human resources, or related field preferred.Experience recruiting, onboarding, and training volunteers strongly preferred.Experience with electronic medical record documentation preferred.Valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation required.Competencies, Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of hospice philosophy and Medicare hospice volunteer requirements.Ability to develop and maintain volunteer recruitment and retention programs.Strong organizational and project management skills.Ability to facilitate training and educational programs.Strong presentation and public speaking skills.Ability to analyze volunteer utilization and program performance metrics.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, volunteer management software, and electronic medical record systems.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentPosition carries risk of exposure to infectious disease which requires standard safetyprecautions while in patient care areas. Position requires ability to lift up to 20 lbsutilizing proper lifting techniques. Position requires minimal walking in administrativeand patient care areas.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a non-exempt, full-time position working a general schedule of Monday throughFriday with requests to work additional days/hours as needed.TravelMust be able to travel as required, which includes a moderate amount of drivingutilizing a personal vehicle.
