The national campaign is working to make poverty a focus of U.S. and U.K. foreign policy.

The Borgen Project is an international organization that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine, and poverty.

With 20 years of experience in advocacy, The Borgen Project has supported the passage of numerous bills benefiting close to 500 million people in developing countries.

Regional Director - You don’t need to be a lobbyist to help influence foreign policy. As a Regional Director, you’ll serve as a Borgen Project Ambassador in your city, mobilizing your friends, family, and colleagues to contact your government in support of key poverty reduction legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Meet with local government leaders and lobby for legislation that improves living conditions for the world’s poor.
  2. Mobilize people in your community to contact their government leaders to support poverty reduction legislation.
  3. Manage and implement fundraising campaigns.
  4. Build a network of people engaged in the cause.
  5. Serve as The Borgen Project’s ambassador in your city.
Qualifications
  1. Basic understanding of politics and international development.
  2. Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple functions and tasks while managing work time efficiently.
  3. Strong team player who loves to bring new ideas to the table.
  4. Ability to demonstrate independent judgment with decisiveness.
  5. Excellent communication skills: oral, written, and presentation.
