Environmental Conditions
Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) safety standards, and compliance with cleanroom protocols (no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair, etc. allowed). Work environments include cold rooms/freezers at -22°F/-6°C, fluctuating temperatures, laboratory settings, areas with loud noises from equipment/machinery, and exposure to strong odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products). No contact lenses allowed; prescriptive glasses will be provided. PPE such as safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coats, ear plugs, etc., are required. The role involves standing for the full shift, working in various outside weather conditions, warehouse environments, and with hazardous/toxic materials. Working at heights is also part of the job.

Location/Division Specific Information
Boston
This role is a traveling position covering the Massachusetts region. Travel will be required 70-80% of the time. The ideal employee will be located in either Cambridge or Boston area.

What will you do?
- Travel to support multiple customer facilities for scheduled and unscheduled coverage, including extended periods.
- Manage inventory: stock room, POU management, dispensing of products, etc.
- Handle order management: order entry, expediting, customer service support.
- Receive, register, and track chemical containers.
- Perform glass wash operations, including sterilization and inspection of glassware.
- Manage dock and shipping operations.
- Drive process improvement culture.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.
How will you get here?
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, or a combination of education and experience demonstrating the required skills. Military service/training in lieu of a degree may also be considered.
Experience
- Experience working in customer service is strongly preferred.
- One year of related experience within a laboratory setting is helpful.
- GxP experience, IATA/DOT certification, and knowledge of OSHA General Industry requirements are a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a desire to deliver excellent customer service. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific's values.
Proficiency in computer skills, especially intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite. Good organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Ability to understand complex work environments and work safely following all policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Work areas may include spaces with chemical allergens. PPE must be worn as required, including lab coats, coveralls, hoods, masks, hairnets, safety gloves, steel-toe shoes, bump hats, and safety glasses.
Ability to lift 30-40 lbs daily, up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Use of equipment like pushcarts, pallet jacks, mobile cylinders, forklifts to push/pull up to 100 lbs.
Stand, walk, and conduct manual material handling for prolonged periods in environments with varied temperatures.
Overtime or independent work as needed.
