Volunteer: Publishing and Editorial Lead

ASCENDtials assists the BIPOC community in dismantling institutionalized Isms within the U.S. workforce through empowering workshops. Our non-profit organization focuses on building cosmic consciousness via experiential learning, healing sessions, workshops, and environmental programs to advocate for humanity and the environment.

As the Editorial Lead, you'll oversee the ASCENDtials editorial team to enhance critical consciousness by providing educational tools, materials, and training courses that promote self-awareness, community, environmental care, and a sense of Oneness. Key responsibilities include leading publication processes, sharing insights, conducting weekly team meetings, tracking attendance and hours, participating in strategy meetings, and evaluating volunteers and interns. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with various platforms, possess strong writing skills, and have a love of learning and team contribution.

Success looks like:

• Leading daily content publishing, including formatting, visuals, and HTML tables
• Updating published content for accuracy and SEO
• Ensuring disclosures and compliance
• Maintaining team documentation
• Fact-checking and copyediting
• Collaborating with the Copyediting team to improve skills
• Growing the ASCENDtials brand as a top destination for personal growth and social change

Qualifications:

• Experience with online content publication
• Leadership and team management experience
• Remote work experience
• Ability to work independently and make decisions
• Attention to detail and organization
• Proficiency with Google Docs, Sheets, and CRM systems like WordPress
• Familiarity with project management tools (Asana, Airtable, Trello)
• Basic knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style, HTML, and SEO is a plus
