Job summary

Second Helpings seeks a dedicated manager to oversee the volunteer program in Indianapolis. You will recruit, screen, select, and train volunteers and serve as the primary liaison to volunteers, developing procedures and policies to align with organizational goals.

You will collaborate with staff, committees and volunteers to meet needs, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with guidelines. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• One to three years management and/or supervisory experience.
• Degree in related field preferred.
• Prior experience as a volunteer and demonstrated community involvement required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan recruitment, training, and retention strategies for volunteers.
• Provide leadership and oversight to the Volunteer Services Coordinator.
• Develop, implement and document procedures and policies relating to the volunteer program.
• Coordinate orientation and training for new volunteers, including sanitation training.
• Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, shifts, and retention.
