Job summary

NAMI North Texas seeks a Programs and Volunteer Engagement Coordinator to support education, support, and community programs while leading volunteer engagement across Collin, Dallas, Denton and Rockwall Counties.

This full-time, hybrid role collaborates with staff and volunteers to ensure effective service delivery and expand access region-wide.

The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to work evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Experience coordinating programs or events.
• Experience in community engagement, outreach, or partnerships.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a small team.
• Proficient in office software and virtual platforms.
• Available to work some evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the service area.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and documentation of education and support programs.
• Provide guidance to volunteer leaders and presenters, ensuring resources are available to deliver high-quality programs.
• Monitor participation, outcomes, and feedback to assess effectiveness and support reporting.
• Maintain accurate program schedules, records, and documentation for evaluation.
• Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and preparation of new program leaders and presenters.
• Establish program goals and initiatives aligned with mission and priorities.
• Serve as primary contact for current and prospective volunteers, ensuring timely communication.
• Coordinate volunteer recruitment, orientation, training, and appreciation activities.
• Develop and maintain volunteer policies and resources, including the Volunteer Handbook.
• Maintain volunteer records and training progress.
• Identify volunteer needs and support placement throughout the organization.
• Set goals to strengthen volunteer engagement and retention.
