Job summary

New York Solidarity Network seeks a Volunteer Engagement Manager to design and lead our volunteer program supporting field operations in the New York City area. You will recruit, train, deploy, and develop volunteers for voter registration, canvassing, and related activities, with an eye toward building a pipeline for paid opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience building or managing volunteer programs or campaigns.
• Experience recruiting, training, and leading volunteers or teams; capable of managing complex projects.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills; ability to use data to evaluate results.
• Familiarity with volunteer management tools and canvassing platforms.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and lead NYSN's volunteer program in support of field operations; establish structure and standards.
• Set recruitment, retention, and leadership goals with the Field Director.
• Develop budget recommendations and evaluate recruitment channels and activities.
• Coordinate recruitment across events, institutions, campuses, and digital channels.
• Create and manage a volunteer training curriculum and leadership pathway.
• Plan volunteer activities and establish policies; represent NYSN at events.
• Identify volunteers for paid canvassing and connect with Field Director.
• Define metrics for volunteer recruitment and retention; track in NYSN's CRM.
