Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator for the Code Compliance Department. This role oversees and coordinates the volunteer service program for the Fort Worth Animal Care and Control division, collaborating with staff, volunteers, and the community to support animal care, enrichment, and adoption events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Business Administration, Public Administration, Marketing, Humanities, Psychology or Public Relations or related field
• Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in volunteer service programs or related fields
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Interacts with community groups, civic organizations, the public and other stakeholders to communicate clearly and effectively
• Assesses organizational needs for volunteer services and plans recruitment in assigned departments
• Develops and implements volunteer recruitment plans across multiple channels
• Designs, plans and implements program strategies for volunteer services
• Recruits, interviews, screens and refers volunteers to appropriate sites
• Maintains administrative and statistical reports on volunteer services and performance
