Job summary

Mercy Ships is seeking a Medical Recruitment Coordinator to support US applications, crew and alumni. This full-time, hybrid role requires 3 days per week in our Lindale, Texas offices, and offers an hourly rate of $20–$22.50.

You will respond to candidate inquiries, screen applications, guide crew through the journey, maintain data integrity in HR systems, and ensure a high-touch candidate experience aligned with Mercy Ships mission.

Qualifications

• Experience in recruiting or HR coordination with US applicants.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to manage inquiries.
• Experience in healthcare or volunteer organizations is a plus.
• Must complete Mercy Ships Entry Training within the first year.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries from potential applicants and provide information on Mercy Ships opportunities.
• Screen US volunteer applications for onboarding onboard and ashore.
• Enter applicant data in People and Culture systems accurately.
• Develop an individualized communication plan based on applicant information.
• Coordinate phone or video calls for advanced applicants and set expectations.
• Collect missing documents to complete applications.
• Contact applicant references and arrange interviews.
• Identify and suggest suitable alternative positions as needed.
• Maintain accurate progress records and track workload metrics.
• Communicate application progress to stakeholders and stay updated on policy changes.
