Volunteers of America Puerto Rico is seeking a Volunteer Engagement & Sustainability VISTA to strengthen VOAPR's ability to recruit and engage volunteers, communicate community health impact, and build sustainable systems.

The role focuses on developing reusable tools, outreach materials, and resource-tracking to support long-term growth of the Community Health Worker program.

This capacity-building placement aims to leave lasting infrastructure VOAPR can continue using after the service year.

Responsibilities

Assess existing volunteer engagement, outreach, communication, and resource development practices.
Research effective volunteer management and community engagement models.
Develop volunteer role descriptions, recruitment strategies, orientation and training resources, tracking tools, engagement procedures, and recognition processes.
Develop reusable community health outreach materials, presentations, impact templates, and communication tools.
Research public, private, philanthropic, community, and in-kind resources that may strengthen the program.
Develop resource tracking and sustainability tools, evaluate Year 1 capacity-building products, and prepare recommendations for continued program growth.

Volunteer Engagement & Sustainability VISTA

Volunteers of America Puerto Rico is strengthening its community health infrastructure to improve access to health and social resources for underserved populations. Through a Community Health Worker model, VOAPR connects individuals with healthcare, social services, community resources, education, and other resources that address barriers to health and well-being.The Volunteer Engagement & Sustainability VISTA will strengthen VOAPR’s ability to recruit and engage volunteers, communicate community health impact, identify resources, and build systems that support the long-term sustainability and growth of the Community Health Worker program.The member will develop reusable volunteer, outreach, communication, resource development, and sustainability tools. This is a capacity-building position designed to leave lasting infrastructure that VOAPR can continue using and expanding after the VISTA service year.
