Job summary

Catholic Social Services in Anchorage seeks a full-time hourly staff member to engage volunteers and advance our mission. You will recruit, orient, train, evaluate, recognize, and track volunteers, working with RAIS program staff and the Community Engagement Manager.

You will build strong relationships with volunteers, maintain files and calendars, coordinate orientation, and help develop training materials while ensuring compassionate service to refugees and community partners.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year in volunteer management with recruitment and training experience.
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required.
  • An advanced degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Data entry, including processing applications and generating reports.
  • Maintain volunteer hours with RAIS programs and HR checks.
  • Maintain volunteer files and databases, and monitor email/calendar.
  • Conduct volunteer orientation and follow-up calls.
  • Develop and update training materials and recruit volunteers.
  • Build rapport with volunteers and connect them to RAIS clients.
  • Support event planning and volunteer recognition efforts.
  • Develop a comprehensive recruitment, orientation and retention plan.
  • Attend volunteer events and support program needs as required.
  • Ensure volunteers feel valued and properly stewarded.
