Job summary

New Alternatives for Children, Inc. (NAC) is seeking a Volunteers and Engagement Coordinator to support the Volunteer and Community Relations Department in New York. The role focuses on volunteer onboarding, database management for in-kind donations, and hands-on support for events, drives, and initiatives.

The position offers a hybrid schedule with four in-office days and one remote day per week. Working closely with the Assistant Director and Senior Manager, you will help recruit and retain

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Manage onboarding and HR processes for volunteer placements
  • Maintain and expand Volunteer Network database
  • Update volunteers about opportunities and agency activities
  • Inventory and organize in-kind donations
  • Support events and partnerships with corporate partners and volunteers
  • Assist in large-scale agency events and holiday drives
