Job summary

Community Servings in Jamaica Plain, MA, is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers for meal preparation spaces, the community room, and offsite events. The role supports seasonal volunteering and ensures volunteers feel welcomed and heard across our sites in Jamaica Plain and Mansfield.

Primary duties include orientations, scheduling, and maintaining relationships with diverse volunteers; occasional travel to Mansfield may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with large groups, delegating tasks, and public speaking.
• Experience working with Salesforce preferred.
• Ability to speak multiple languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome volunteers and assign duties/tasks in collaboration with distribution center staff.
• Design and conduct daily volunteer orientations for groups and individuals.
• Enforce sanitation and safety policies, including administering first aid if needed.
• Engage with volunteer groups from start to finish, answering questions and providing support.
