Hours: Monday-Friday; 8am-4:30pm

Reporting to the Director of Volunteer Services & Complementary Therapies, the Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the logistics of the Volunteer Program, including applications and screening, record management, recruitment, training, assigning and supervising volunteers.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in related discipline such as social work, psychology, education, human services, or business. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Three to five years of program administration or office management experience in a healthcare or non-profit setting, preferably in a volunteer program or having served as a volunteer in a non-profit agency.
• Proven written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to present a supportive and sensitive approach to volunteer and patient/family needs.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and obtain results through others.
• Demonstrated skill in administrative functions, including data entry, database and record management, and intermediate level of competence in the use of MS Office applications and MS Outlook.
• Demonstrated ability to verbalize hospice philosophy and principles.
• Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligations and ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team (IDT).
• Must be licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organizational requirements.
