Job summary

Heart’n Soul Hospice is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and train volunteers, ensuring alignment with patient plans of care. You will manage volunteer programs, foster strong community relations, and ensure regulatory compliance across local, state, and federal requirements.

The role requires strong communication, public relations, and relationship-building skills, plus experience with EMR software and a valid driver's license. This full-time role offers competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience in recruitment and management of volunteers is preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the IDG and the public.
  • Demonstrates good communication, interpersonal and public relations skills.
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation; maintain insurance as required.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit new volunteers for hospice programs.
  • Train volunteers on hospice philosophy, regulations, and duties.
  • Provide volunteers per the patient’s Plan of Care.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws related to volunteers.
  • Develop the volunteer program with IDG and administration staff.
  • Lead community relations to foster good volunteer engagement.

Volunteer Coordinator

What You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Experience in recruitment & management of volunteers, preferred
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the IDG and the lay and professional public
  • Working knowledge of volunteer program resources
  • Demonstrates good communication, interpersonal, and public relations skills
  • Experience with EMR software
  • Current driver's license, reliable transportation, and provide ongoing valid and current auto liability insurance

What You Will Do:

  • Recruitment of new volunteers
  • Training new volunteers on hospice philosophy, regulations, and job duties
  • Provides volunteers per the Hospice patient's Plan of Care
  • Demonstrates knowledge of, and ensures compliance with, all local, state and federal laws relating to the recruitment, training & retention of volunteers
  • Develops the volunteer program through collaboration with the IDG and administration personnel
  • Establishes a public relations program to foster good working relations with the volunteers & the community
  • Timely submission of all documentation
  • Performance of other duties as required
  • Ensure overall compliance with local, state and federal laws, Medicare regulations, and established personnel policies and procedures
