Job summary

Alamo Hospice in Boerne, TX is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to support the Boerne and Kerrville locations. You will develop training programs, recruit and train volunteers, and build retention initiatives to ensure compassionate, compliant service across clinical and administrative settings.

The role runs Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to impact patients and families during end‑of‑life journeys.

Qualifications

• Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and speak before groups with sensitivity and compassion.
• Volunteer experience desired, particularly in recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers.
• Knowledge of hospice services and regulatory considerations.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Volunteer Training Program.
• Recruit and train volunteers.
• Develop and maintain volunteer retention programs.
• Assure compliance with all regulatory issues related to volunteers.
• Develop programs that maximize the use of volunteers in clinical and administrative services.
• Support other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement Volunteer Training Program.
• Recruit and train volunteers.

Qualifications

• Significant group organizational experience.
• Volunteer experience desired, particular in recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers.
• Knowledge of hospice.
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
• Demonstrates excellent observation, problem solving, verbal and written communications.
• Shows ability to organize and prioritize workload independently
