Job summary

U.S.VETS is seeking a Volunteer & Client Activities Coordinator to oversee diverse volunteer opportunities and coordinate activities for clients and their families. The role reports to the site Program Manager and supports therapeutic and recreational activities while tracking participation.

Responsibilities include coordinating transportation, organizing site tours, and assisting in development and fundraising events to benefit client households in Hawaii.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Experience coordinating volunteer programs.
• Experience with homeless/client populations preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops, promotes and maintains volunteer opportunities within the site.
• Coordinates volunteer applications and placement with HR and programs.
• Conducts volunteer orientation and training.
• Maintains records and reports on volunteer participation.

Volunteer & Client Activities CoordinatorThis position reports directly to the site Program Manager and is responsible for coordinating activities for clients and their families enrolled in United States Veterans Initiative’s (U.S.VETS) programs and coordinating volunteers to support activities and secure resources that benefit client households.FLSA Classification: Non-ExemptResponsibilitiesDevelops, promotes, and maintains a wide range of volunteer opportunities within the U.S.VETS siteSurveys staff regularly to assess needs for volunteer assistance and surveys clients for needs and preferences for activitiesCoordinates volunteer application process in conjunction with Human Resources as neededCoordinates volunteer placement within programs and departmentsConducts volunteer orientation and trainingMaintains records and reports on volunteer participationOrganizes site tours related to volunteer and client activitiesSupports development and fundraising eventsDevelops and maintains a calendar of client and volunteer activitiesSupports clients in reaching personal, social, and vocational goalsPlans and conducts therapeutic and recreational activitiesCoordinates transportation for volunteer and client activitiesTracks client participation and metricsPerforms other duties as assignedRequirementsBachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred or equivalent experienceExperience coordinating volunteer programsExperience working with homeless and/or client populations preferredStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks independentlyValid driver’s license required
