Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking qualified teachers to educate students in grades 6–12 within a LifeWise classroom. The role emphasizes in-depth Bible knowledge, effective teaching strategies, and building relationships with students in a faith-centered environment.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of classroom teaching experience and demonstrates a mature Christian faith aligned with LifeWise beliefs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience (with students) in either a school or church setting.
• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise beliefs.

Responsibilities

• Complete Initial and Ongoing Training
• Complete the LifeWise Teacher Certification Course within 30 days of the start date and prior to teaching in the LifeWise classroom
• Participate in the annual LifeWise Summit each year
• Attend at least one Teachers' Lounge or one LifeWise Meet-Up per year
• Stay up to date on training and updates by regularly checking LifeWise email
• Teach LifeWise Classes using the LifeWise curriculum and map out curriculum customization
• Apply LifeWise policies, procedures and resources
• Implement age-appropriate lesson plans using LifeWise curriculum
• Invest in connecting with students through relationships and prayer
• Maintain organized, redemptive classroom environment and prioritize student engagement
• Keep accurate attendance and class rosters; note health concerns and permissions
• Prepare lesson plans and materials for substitutes
• Maintain a safe, encouraging classroom; manage supplies as needed
• Communicate as LifeWise ambassador; engage with events and school personnel
• Keep volunteers informed and submit updates and photos to the program director
