Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks substitute teachers who exhibit strong Biblical knowledge and teaching abilities. The ideal candidate is an active church participant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, caring, perceptive, and proficient in teaching students.

Substitute teachers will complete training and teach LifeWise classes as needed, implementing provided lesson plans and maintaining a safe, well-organized classroom.

Qualifications

• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training.
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis.
• Implement the lesson plans using the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher.
• Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom environment following LifeWise policies and procedures.
• Follow the program's student discipline policy.
• Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to the teacher.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom.
• Know procedures for emergency situations.
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community.
• Communicate lesson plans with volunteers before class and assign duties.
• Communicate with the teacher.
