Job summary

Volo Sports is seeking a part-time Host & Referee in the Phoenix area to welcome players, enforce game rules, and maintain a safe, fun environment across leagues at local facilities and bars. Your role includes checking players in, updating scores, coordinating with office on equipment and issues, and delivering a high-quality experience that reflects the energy and community focus of Volo.

Qualifications

• Must be willing and able to work weekends and/or nights - especially Tuesday/Thursday evenings.
• Knowledge of the sport rules, ideally with referee/umpire experience.
• Interest in sports and social activities.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Works well in a team atmosphere.
• Ability to multi-task and make decisions under pressure.
• Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds.
• Positive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate clearly.
• Proficient customer service skills.

Referee Responsibilities Including, But Not Limited To

• Encourage and maintain a quality experience throughout the league

Must-Haves

• Must be willing and able to work weekends and/or nights - we are especially looking for folks with Tuesday and Thursday evening availability.
• Knowledge of the rules of the sport, ideally previous referee/umpire experience
• Interest in sports and social activities
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Works well in a team atmosphere
