Job summary

Volo Sports is seeking a part-time Host & Referee to oversee flag football leagues, ensuring safety, fair play, and a welcoming atmosphere for players across venues. You will communicate rules, manage scores, and support league operations with a customer-focused approach.

Ideal candidates will have knowledge of sport rules, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Weekend and Sunday evening availability are highly valued as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly convey rules and information.
• Strong knowledge of sport rules and fair play expectations.
• Proficient customer service skills and ability to engage players.
• Able to work within a team and support league operations.

Job Description

Hosts and Referees serve as representatives for Volo and its subsidiaries at facilities and bars and are the main point of contact for our players in leagues. Referee Responsibilities Including, But Not Limited To

• Ensure a safe, fun, social and fair environment for all players
• Understand and kindly and fairly enforce each sport’s rules
• Communicate with the office regarding any equipment, rule issues, player issues, etc.
• Update league scores in our user interfaceCheck in players in our user interface
• Encourage and maintain a quality experience throughout the league
• Set up & take down field set up
• Meet players and make them feel welcome

Must-Haves

• Must be willing and able to work weekends and/or nights - we are especially looking for folks with Sunday evening availability.
• Knowledge of the rules of the sport, ideally previous referee/umpire experience
• Interest in sports and social activities
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Works well in a team atmosphere
• Ability to multi-task and make decisions under pressure
• Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds
• Possess a positive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate clearly
• Proficient customer service skills
• Certified referees may qualify for a higher starting rate.
