Job summary

Volo Sports is seeking a Host to represent the company at facilities and bars, serving as the main contact for players in leagues. This is a part-time position with opportunities for advancement within the company.

The role involves ensuring a safe, social, and fair environment, enforcing sport rules, and coordinating league operations while welcoming participants into the community.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, fun, social and fair environment for all players.
• Understand and fairly enforce each sport's rules.
• Communicate with the office regarding equipment, rule issues, player issues, etc.
• Update league scores in our user interface; check in players in the interface.
• Encourage and maintain a quality experience throughout the league.
• Set up and take down field setup.
• Meet players and make them feel welcome.

Job Description

Hosts and Referees serve as representatives for Volo and its subsidiaries at facilities and bars and are the main point of contact for our players in leagues. Referee Responsibilities Including, But Not Limited To

• Ensure a safe, fun, social and fair environment for all players
• Understand and kindly and fairly enforce each sport's rules
• Communicate with the office regarding any equipment, rule issues, player issues, etc.
• Update league scores in our user interfaceCheck in players in our user interface
• Encourage and maintain a quality experience throughout the league
• Set up & take down field set up
• Meet players and make them feel welcome

Must-Haves

• Must be willing and able to work weekends and/or nights - we are especially looking for folks with Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday evening availability.
• Knowledge of the rules of the sport, ideally previous referee/umpire experience
• Interest in sports and social activities
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Works well in a team atmosphere
• Ability to multi-task and make decisions under pressure
• Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds
• Possess a positive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate clearly
• Proficient customer service skills
• Certified referees may qualify for a higher starting rate.
