Job summary

META Solutions (Metropolitan Educational Technology Association) seeks a VoIP Technician to support and optimize META's unified communications and 911-related VoIP services for schools and districts. You will perform system updates, installations, configurations, and ongoing technical support, coordinating with the META technical staff to ensure reliable delivery and documentation.

This role emphasizes troubleshooting, project management, and collaboration to maintain emergency communications

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with VoIP.
• Knowledge of and experience with WAN/LAN.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and access confined spaces.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle tools, testing equipment, and small components.
• Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision.

Responsibilities

• Work with the VoIP team to evaluate and implement unified communications technologies.
• Ensure reliable delivery of META unified communications services.
• Manage and maintain infrastructure for META UC delivery.
• Generate and maintain documentation and training materials.
• Evaluate and maintain SIP service contracts.
• Train customer technical staff on META UC system.
• Monitor Helpdesk for issue acknowledgement.
• Maintain hardware inventory for META UC service.
• Perform updates to the META UC service.
• Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Intrado 911 services for META customers.
• Configure 911 to allow direct dialing without outside-line prefixes.
