Role Description

This full-time, on-site Speech Language Pathologist role is based at University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH. The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders across diverse patient populations and care settings. Daily responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, documenting clinical findings and progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care. The role involves educating patients, families, and caregivers on therapy goals and strategies, participating in discharge planning, and contributing to quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives. The Speech Language Pathologist also maintains regulatory and professional standards, engages in ongoing professional development, and supports a safe and inclusive clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in Speech Therapy and clinical management of Speech and Communication Disorders.
• Experience assessing and treating Language Disorders across pediatric and/or adult populations.
• Clinical expertise in evaluation and treatment of Dysphagia and other swallowing disorders.
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program and current state licensure (or eligibility) as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Ohio.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA, or eligibility to obtain.
• Strong interpersonal, documentation, and time-management skills, with the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team.
• Experience in acute care, inpatient, or outpatient hospital settings is preferred; familiarity with evidence-based practice and use of standardized assessments is beneficial.
