The Clinical Speech Pathologist evaluates and treats patients, supervises work performed by staff and contributes to the management of daily operations. This home care role involves travel to patients' homes in the community.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition and establish goals and plan of care appropriate to problems identified and involve the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires.
- Perform therapy interventions using standard speech therapy techniques and skills appropriate for the patient’s age and condition.
- Evaluate communication and swallowing function of patients.
- Select assistive speech devices to improve patient’s communication.
- Maintain complete and up-to-date documentation and files regarding patient condition and effectiveness and timeliness of care and interventions.
- Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary assessment of assigned patients.
- Participate as a member of the hospice interdisciplinary team when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
- Speech-Language Pathology licensure (SP) in the State of Ohio.
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Valid Ohio Driver’s license upon hire; per policy 8-175 thereafter.
- Proof of automobile insurance coverage with $100,000/$300,000 coverage, upon hire; per policy 8-175 thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience as a Clinical Speech Language Pathologist.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to perform tests.
Personal Protective Equipment
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $63,250.00. Maximum Annual Salary: $96,467.50. The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Actual compensation will be determined after taking into consideration factors such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
