Job summary

Goodwill of North Georgia is seeking a dedicated trainer to deliver skills and vocational training aligned with program goals. The role includes recruiting participants, developing community work experiences, and collaborating with employers to create training sites with wages.

The position emphasizes high-quality, individualized services, confidentiality, and coordination with counselors. Flexibility in hours and locations within the Goodwill service area is expected to support program success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in related field preferred or combination of education, trade or teaching experience will be considered.
• Three (3) years' work experience in related field.
• Previous experience providing training in the specific skill area.
• Strong communication, training and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of designated trade and occupational field and current industry practices.
• Excellent knowledge of training practices and methods, including curriculum design.
• Strong knowledge of instructional design and disability-related considerations.
• Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to adapt to flexible hours and work locations within the Goodwill service area.
• Bilingual Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide skills training and vocational services in support of program goals.
• Recruit participants qualified and eligible for funding to ensure financial sustainability of the program.
• Assist to develop community work experiences and training sites with employer-paid wages.
• Submit recommendations for equipment, tools, curriculum updates and materials for effective delivery.
• Ensure high quality, individualized services aligned with Goodwill of North Georgia's mission.
• Supervise and train qualified personnel (as applicable).
• Train and supervise participants in various settings as assigned.
• Maintain regular contact with referring counselors/agency.
• Ensure smooth transition of cases across services and programs.
• Support participants to pursue higher quality of life through work.
• Work with employment staff to identify job readiness and placement needs.
• Ensure protection and confidentiality of participant rights.
• Identify barriers and develop individual plans for participants.
• Provide ongoing counseling and crisis intervention as needed.
