Job summary

State of Minnesota is seeking a Skills Development Specialist for the MSOP program in St. Peter. The role focuses on developing and guiding vocational training and production support, with emphasis on documentation, inventory control, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will work in a secure, 7am–3:30pm environment, Monday–Friday, contributing to client and staff development while ensuring safety and compliance across processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with two years’ experience in a manufacturing or therapeutic services environment.
• Experience developing, facilitating, and evaluating programming to improve client or staff success.
• Experience using spreadsheets and database systems for reporting.
• Strong organizational and relationship-building skills; able to lead and teach complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative control and direction in treatment, training, and education for MSOP vocational lines.
• Offer work direction and coordination to clients, staff, and customer service for production/logistical support.
• Develop training systems and procedures for task authorization, distribution, and inventory control.
• Oversee documentation for raw materials movement and inventory record-keeping.
• Manage on-duty and leave time to meet goals and objectives.
• Collaborate as an interdisciplinary team to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
