Job summary

OpenGate Education is seeking a Creative Vocational Lead Teacher to shape the vocational offer at our Tees Valley site. This role combines teaching with leadership to develop practical learning pathways that connect skills with qualifications and employment.

You will support learners with SEND/SEMH, work with the Head of Centre, and build links with employers and colleges to create meaningful next steps for young people.

Qualifications

• Must have a recognised teaching or coaching qualification.
• Vocational expertise.
• Experience engaging young people who need a different approach to learning.
• Willingness to take leadership from the outset.

OpenGate Education is looking for a creative, committed teacher to help shape the vocational offer at our new alternative provision.

In this role, you will:

• Deliver engaging, hands-on learning to small groups and individual learners
• Develop vocational pathways that connect practical skills with qualifications, employment and everyday life
• Support young people with SEND, SEMH needs and other barriers to education
• Work alongside the Head of Centre, supporting colleagues and site co-ordination
• Build links with employers, colleges and partners to create meaningful next steps.

We’re looking for someone with a recognised teaching or coaching qualification, vocational expertise and experience of engaging young people who need a different approach to learning.

This is an opportunity to combine teaching with leadership and help shape a new provision from the beginning.

• Location: Tees Valley
• Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
• Full time, term time
