Job summary

Targeted Provision is seeking SEND Tutors and Teachers to transform the lives of young people with SEND and SEMH needs. Roles are versatile: in-person, hybrid, or remote tutoring with flexible hours and part-time to full-time options.

We require 2+ years teaching experience, QTS/QTLS, and an Enhanced DBS with two references. This self-employed position supports a trauma-informed, child-centred approach and community impact.

Qualifications

  • QTS or QTLS qualification required.

SEND Tutor and Teacher role requirements:


  • Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way

  • Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)

  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references

  • Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs

  • Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment


The SEND Tutor and Teacher role and responsibilities:


  • Provide in person, online / remote, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs

  • Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring

  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress


We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
