The State of North Carolina is seeking a dedicated Vocational Health Care Technician I to provide individualized support and training for individuals in a vocational program. This position plays a critical role in enhancing independence and skill retention in a caring environment at the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center. The role involves aide in communication and community skills, ensuring safety and fostering a supportive community.
The primary purpose of the Vocational Health Care Technician I position is to ensure safety and individualized job skill training for the individuals served in the vocational program through direct support and service implementation. The position involves supporting the individual in all aspects of his/her career development process including the integration of communication, social skills, and community referenced skills into their work routine. The Vocational Health Care Technician I is part of a team that provides supports based on individual identified needs/wishes/preferences/strengths and potential for learning. These supports are directed toward enhancing independence and retaining skills that maximize resident self-determination.
This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
Salary Grade MH01; Recruitment Range $31,200.00 - $42,061.00
Position 60048699 - Residential Engagement/Vocational Enrichment, 1st shift (7:30a - 4:00p), Monday – Friday
