Job summary

South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department is seeking a Vocational Counselor to help eligible individuals with disabilities achieve competitive employment through coordinated services including counseling, guidance, job search, and direct placement.

The role involves developing individualized employment plans, conducting assessments, and maintaining relationships with community partners to generate referrals and applications for SCVR services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in counseling, psychology, mental health, or related field.
• Ability to communicate effectively with consumers, vendors, employers, and coworkers.
• Ability to apply logical thinking to define problems, collect data, and draw conclusions.

• Prepare & assist eligible South Carolinians with disabilities to achieve and maintain competitive employment by coordinating services to include vocational counseling, guidance, job search and direct placement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology or Mental Health or Bachelor’s Degree in any other field with professional experience in human services, social services or related field is preferred.
• Should be able to communicate effectively to establish and maintain effective working relationships with consumers, vendors, employers, and coworkers.
• Must be able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
