Job summary

Monarch Healthcare in North Carolina is seeking a Developmental Specialist Vocational to build trusting relationships with individuals and support them in pursuing their personal dreams and goals as outlined in their individual goal plans. You’ll assess individuals’ hopes, protect rights, promote advocacy, and coordinate with community services while supervising staff as needed.

Sleepovers and travel may be required; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with adults with mental health diagnoses and/or developmental disabilities is not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess each person for their hopes, dreams and desires and provide supports to facilitate achievement.
• Protect and promote the rights of individuals; assist with advocacy and use personal advocates.
• Serve as a resource for community agencies and supports meeting identified needs or goals.
• Supervise, educate, and monitor people in work settings (community venues, workshops, day supports).
• Maintain a safe work environment by following safety procedures in community and job settings.
• Complete required documentation including progress notes, goals, actions toward outcomes and timesheets.
