What you will do

Volvo Trucks North America is seeking a results-driven leader to support vocational Class 8 truck business growth across North America. This role focuses on strengthening vocational market growth and support for corporate sales teams, dealers, bodybuilders, and customers through strong execution, collaboration, and market responsiveness in construction, heavy haul, utility, and other specialized applications.

Key responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Support corporate sales teams with vocational expertise, customer insights, and developing growth opportunities.
• Partner with regional and dealer sales representatives to strengthen vocational sales execution.
• Improve dealer and body builder product understanding to enhance customer sales support.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key bodybuilders and upfitters across North America.
• Develop and maintain joint business plans and programs with regional & dealers representatives and bodybuilders to strengthen Volvo’s vocational offering.
• Support bodybuilder collaboration forums or councils, as needed.
• Coordinate technical collaboration between Volvo Trucks body builder support groups, engineering teams, and bodybuilders to optimize chassis-body integration.
• Act as the voice of the bodybuilder community within Volvo, advocating product features, support tools, and integration capabilities.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Sales Engineering, Customer Engineering Sales, and Marketing to tailor offerings to vocational customer needs.
• Support Volvo Trucks vocational product awareness through dealer and industry events.
• Support the launch of new vocational products and configurations by ensuring dealer and bodybuilder readiness.
• Provide reports and quarterly sales briefs, project updates, and support for upcoming regional, dealer, body builder, and customer events.
• Perform all other duties assigned.

Preferred knowledge, experience, and education

• Minimum 5 years of practical working experience in the trucking industry, with a focus on vocational B2B sales and technical knowledge preferred
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, marketing, or product management.
• Extensive industry experience and knowledge may be considered in lieu of degree requirements in exceptional circumstances.
• Commercial truck sales, technical, and product experience.
• Experience with dealer distribution networks and sales processes.
• Good business and financial acumen.

Additional important preferred skills

• Ability to work at Volvo Trucks corporate office Greensboro, NC preferred or Eastern US location.
• Geographical context in which knowledge is applied: North America.
• Able to perform duties effectively in a fast-paced environment whether working autonomously or under direction.
• Up to 70% travel.
• Class A commercial drivers license or able to obtain.
• External forums:
  • Trade shows and exposure to related associations.
  • Segment or industry related association involvement a plus.

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $128,300.00 - $158,400.00 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
