Western Secure Treatment Unit (WSTU) is a secure post-adjudication facility that provides comprehensive services to young women (14-21), using a trauma-informed, strength-based, gender responsive model. Through rigorous education, positive skill development, and individualized therapeutic interventions and treatment, we empower youth to reach their full potential. The facility features residential student dormitories, on-site schooling, a vocational CTE student work training program, a dining hall, and extracurricular opportunities for the young men. Pay: $60,000/annually

What you will do: The Vocational Instructor prepares in advance, develops and implements daily lesson plans for the purpose of delivering instructionalcurriculum related to subject area competencies. Delivers daily lesson plans and develops activitiesfollowing the Target Teaching format for the purpose of developing academic skills and employabletechnology skills appropriate for career paths, as well as, coordinates, supervises and evaluates instructors for the purpose of delivering the best possible vocationaltraining program, if applicable.
To be considered you should: Possess a High school diploma or equivalent. College preferred. Valid Journeyman Certificate, if applicable. Five years prior industry experience and the sufficient skills and knowledge to deliver a comprehensivevocational training curriculum and Knowledge of: Instructional Vocational strategies and how they can be employed to deliver curriculumand assess student learning. ~ Be at least 21 years of age ~ Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen (we no longer test for THC for pre-employment), physical, and TB test ~ Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.
Schedule: 5 Days on, 2 Days off – 40 hours/week.
