The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is looking for a Vocational Instructor in Baldwinville to provide job coaching and support for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Responsibilities include maintaining financial records, delivering training on employable skills, and supporting work programs.
This full-time position offers a salary range of $62,095.28 to $84,208.02 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Travel within the Central/West Region may be required.
The Vocational Instructor C works with individuals to provide job coaching and support and is engaged in teaching a variety of employable skills to individuals in group-supported worksites. The instructor participates actively in the Individual Support Plan (ISP)/ Life Plan process, collaborates with team members, service providers, and families, and attends support meetings and trainings to help individuals with intellectual disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, choose career goals. They follow business-related procedures and support other TCS day and work programs, including group-supported and individualized worksites.
Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records and reports, performing monetary transactions, compiling required data, producing daily written documentation, completing progress notes and incident reports, recording daily attendance and timesheets, and assisting in the planning and development of work programs. The instructor may provide functional supervision to Vocational Instructor A/B's in the worksite and may provide 1-1 support to individuals served in day or work programs. Experience operating and maintaining outdoor equipment safely is desired; MAP certification is preferred but not required.
Minimum entrance requirements: At least two years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) experience in vocational or industrial training or instruction.
Substitutions: A bachelor's or higher degree in industrial arts or vocational education may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.
Substitutions: One year of education equals 30 semester hours. Education toward a degree will be prorated based on the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
Full-time, day shift. Work hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Days off: Sunday and Saturday. Travel within the Central/West Region as required.
