Job summary

South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department is seeking a qualified professional to help eligible individuals with disabilities achieve competitive employment by coordinating services including vocational counseling, guidance, and direct job placement.

The role involves conducting assessments, career exploration, and designing Individualized Plans for Employment (IPE), along with weekly caseload management and related duties.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Counseling, Psychology or CSPD-qualified.
• Ability to counsel and advise students and youth with disabilities toward a vocational goal via Individualized Plans for Employment (IPE).
• Ability to communicate effectively to establish and maintain working relationships with consumers, vendors, employers, medical community, and coworkers.
• Ability to apply logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist eligible South Carolinians with disabilities to achieve and maintain competitive employment by coordinating services including vocational counseling, guidance, and direct job placement (Transition Caseload).
• Conduct and coordinate communication assessments, vocational assessments, career exploration, and job preparation instruction and design an IPE.
• Complete caseload management activities weekly.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
