Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Harrisburg District Office, is seeking a Vocational Rehabilitation Manager 1 to lead staff and strengthen employment opportunities for people with disabilities. You will guide operations and promote positive outcomes in the community.

This role offers leadership responsibilities and the chance to improve systems, collaborate with partners, and effect lasting change through strategic planning and program evaluation.

Qualifications

• Four years of professional social or human services experience that includes two years of professional experience working in programs that serve persons with disabilities and that includes or is supplemented by one year of professional supervisory or consultative social or human services experience, and a bachelor’s degree.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes two years of professional experience working in programs that serve persons with disabilities and that includes or is supplemented by one year of professional supervisory or consultative social or human services experience.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning: Develop plans that guide service delivery, resource use, and long term goals
• Staff Leadership: Provide direction and expectations to staff while promoting professionalism
• Operational Oversight: Monitor service quality, compliance, and office performance to support positive outcomes
• Fiscal Management: Manage customer service funds and adjust spending to meet changing needs
• Community Collaboration: Coordinate with partner organizations to expand opportunities for individuals with disabilities
• Program Evaluation: Review service effectiveness, identify needs, and support continuous improvement efforts
