Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts, located in Fresno, CA, seeks an experienced LVN or RN Didactic/Clinical Instructor for the Vocational Nursing Program on the Fresno campus. This is a full-time role with responsibilities across didactic and clinical instruction.

Responsibilities

• Be available for on-campus meetings and campus activities as needed.
• Support the Campus Director and Nursing Program Leadership in organizing the program and enforcing standards.
• Maintain knowledge of medical education requirements and campus facilities.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classesfor the Gurnick Campus Vocational Nursing program.
• Meet with didactic and clinical faculty members to discuss program development
• Availability to Meet on Campus as a need basis for Faculty meetings, Advisory Board Meetings, selected instruction classes, etc.
• Support the Campus Director and Nursing Program Leadership in the organization of the program and implementation of the program’s standards.
• Maintain continuous knowledge of medical education and assure about the facilities continuous medical education requirements.

• The BVNPT is requiring a Bachelor’s degree for LVN and RN for faculty candidates
• An instructor in a vocational nursing program shall have or be currently attending a course offered by an approved school in teaching; and shall meet the requirements of: SubsectionA or B, below:

(A) Registered Nurse:

• Hold a current California active license as a Registered Nurse; and
• Hold a baccalaureate degree from an approved school; or a valid teaching credential; or have completed a minimum of one year full-time teaching experience in a state approved registered nursing or vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five years; or met community college or state university teaching requirements in California; and
• Have a minimum of three years experience as a registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse within the last five years

(B) Licensed Vocational Nurse:

• Hold a current California active license as a Vocational Nurse; and
• Hold a baccalaureate degree from an approved school; or a valid teaching credential; or have completed a minimum of one year full-time teaching experience in a state approved registered nursing or vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five years; or met community college or state university teaching requirements in California; and
• Have a minimum of three years experience as a vocational nurse within the last five years.
